Out and about

There are many other safe sandy beaches on the Costa, offering all sorts of water sports, and easily accessible either by car or by the regular bus service which runs between Malaga and Marbella, and beyond.
Not for nothing is the area also dubbed the Costa del Golf, being blessed with at least 30 superb and often challenging 18-hole golf courses offering year-round golf. And with its restaurants to please all tastes and pockets, it provides an ideal base for exploring the Andalucian countryside:

• boat trips from Marbella to Puerto Banus (and back)

• visit the dolphins at Benalmadena

•Moorish white villages, or, for something a little different, the prehistoric cave drawings in Cueva de la Pileta

• the splendours of Malaga (Picasso museum, its long-buried Roman amphitheatre...)

• Ronda - Arab baths or the gorge and aqueduct
The Ronda railway is reputed to be particularly spectacular

• Elviria: feel like splashing out on a buggy safari?

• Enjoy water skiing and wakeboarding on a large inland lake

• Gibraltar, with its famous Rock monkeys

• the splendid Alhambra Palace in Granada, worth booking in advance in the high season, or even the ski slopes
of the nearby Sierra Nevada

• or why not take the cable car from Benalmadena! and see the raptors in the Valle de las Αguilas (eagle valley)"
